Temporary Remote Control Cable Gate

Multi Torque Industries designs and manufactures a remote control mobile cable gate that operates by a solar panel and can be taken into the field.

Before Operation

Ensure the battery is fully charged before taking the unit into the field, with the battery fully charged the solar panel should in most weather conditions maintain the battery charge with normal use.

The motor post has a built-in tank that can be filled with water this will add weight to the bottom of the post and will help keep the post stable on sloping ground.

 Setting Up the Rope Gate

The rope requires placing weights of about 200-350 grams 1.4 meters from each post or equivalent to the height of the post. The gate is designed to be a minimum of 6 meters apart ideally 8 meters in the down Position. At 6 meters the rope will provide a 3-meter-wide access for vehicles at 8 meters the access width will be 5 meters.

Initial Power Up 

On the initial power up the unit will not know the position of the rope and will require the operator to ensure the gate is set up properly then test the gate operation. If the rope is initially up and tight and the unit does not respond move the rope post so that the rope is slack and the limit switch is not operated then re-test the unit for proper operation.

 Down Operation

When the DOWN button (“B”) on the wireless remote is pushed and the rope limit switch is in the up position, the motor will start extracting the rope until the rope is in the down position a shown above. N.B The DOWN button (“B”) only needs to be pushed momentarily and the rope will spool out for a pre-set period (3-15 seconds) then stop.

Up Operation

When the UP button (“A”) on the wireless remote is pushed and the rope limit switch is in the low position. The motor will start retracting the rope until the rope tightens and operates the rope up limit switch.

N.B The UP button (“A”) only needs to be pushed momentarily and the rope will retract until the limit switch is operated.

Maintenance

Regularly clean the solar panel and inspect the rope for wear or damage.

The rope and weights are supplied as a consumable in the following options:

Rope: Standard flag or Reflective flag; 6- & 9-meter opening lengths with pre-set weight hooking points.  Weights: 200- & 300- gram weights.
